Her mind was preoccupied, taking in the gorgeous scenery and the historical narration from their guide at the same time. She never noticed that Graham walked away and stood looking over the water, his back to them.
“Mama, I think daddy is sad again,” Sarah was tugging on her sleeve.
Mari looked around to find Graham and thought she saw him shaking. “I’ll go see what wrong sweetie, just stay here is and listen to Prospector Joe. I’ll be right back.”
She hurried over to him “Honey are you okay?” She touched his arm. He was definitely shaking.
“I never should have agreed to take Sarah on this excursion.” He took Mari into his arms and held her so tight she could barely breathe.
“Graham, what’s wrong, you’re scaring me. I’ve never seen you like this before.”
