ABOUT ME

  • THE IMPORTANT STUFF
  • My name is Jaimee Jenkins Ellis and I am 44 years old. I have been married for 20 years and I have 5 kids ranging in age from 19-3. ;)
  • I have some physical limitations including but not limited to, bad back, hips and foot.
  • I have a degree in Communication Studies from UNLV although I never really pursued a career in PR like I had planned.
  • I live in beautiful Casper, WY but will always think of Southern Nevada (Overton, Boulder City, Las Vegas) as my true home. I'm just unable to live there anymore because of the extreme heat.
  • I enjoy all music but especially stuff from the 80's. I love to read many different kinds of books but romance and mysteries are my favorites.  Janet Evanovich is one of my idols.  I just adore her Stephanie Plum series. My favorite book of all time is Water For Elephants. I don't watch much of anything on TV besides kids shows, but I do love to watch Criminal Minds and have a mad crush on Matthew Gray Gubler. I don't get much chance to see movies, but one over my all time favorites is Pretty Woman - I love me a good romance :)
  • If there is anything else you would like to know, just ask and I will try to add it!

  • THE RANDOM STUFF
  • I love to sing but I am too shy to let anyone hear me. My kids get to hear me up until about the age of 4. If you ever come up to my house while no one else is home you would get an earful!
  • I was born in Roseburg, OR but have also lived in Florida, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming. My heart is in Nevada and Alaska but because of my problems with heat, I will most likely end up in Ketchikan, AK...please?
  • I was celebrity obsessed as a kid. I wanted to grow up to be an entertainment publicist. But as time went on I realized my life wasn't in CA or NY. Unfortunately, I already had my degree in public relations. Sigh...
  • I love ice cream! Anytime, Anywhere - but there is something so cool about eating it in the winter.
  • I don't write typical alpha heroes. I like traditional, take home to mom and dad, fix my tire, love kittens and kids kinds of guys and they are easiest for me to write about. That's not to say that I don't like to occasionally read about the typical alpha hero because I do!
  • I am an advocate for autism awareness. My second child has Asperger's Syndrome which is on the Autism spectrum.
  • Despite popular belief, I don't exclusively write about Alaska. You will also see me write about Nevada, Wyoming and I'm sure many other places throughout my career!
  • I am your typical insecure writer. Most of the times I hate what I write and when I start to love it I know it is okay to publish!
  • I am a night owl. I love to sleep late and watch late night TV
  • I love making my own covers. I have limited props right now, but I used to do graphic arts for a living.
  • My second child is a great help with my covers.
  • I write all of my books on pen and paper. The computer/typewriter takes away from my creativity most of the time.
  • I am old fashioned. I like politeness, chivalry, true love and I give my modern novels a sense of timelessness with some of the stuff I write because I know there are still people out there who like politeness and honesty.
  • I am a mommy blogger although I have let it suffer a lot lately. I'm getting back into it. Some of those fellow moms are vicious! :)
  • I love talking with my fans. I love getting emails from them or having them stop by my facebook/twitter and say hello.  If you ever find me ignoring one of my fans, please call me out on it because that is the last thing I want to do!

My gang. I love them so much! :)

I'm not one of those people who has been a 'writer' my whole life. In 2005 I started to get ideas for stories and started to put them down on paper - as just ideas. But eventually I felt compelled to expand on them and I started writing. Through the years, raising a family has gotten in the way many times. But now that I am done having kids, I can get back on track and achieve my goal of becoming published. I hope you will partake in this journey with me.
